In a culture where love and its pitfalls are entertainment to many, I am pleased to introduce my novel, Memoirs of a Broken Heart. Set in current day Tennessee, Memoirs of a Broken Heart is the story of a depressed, twenty-four-year-old Vanessa Moore, who is struggling to find happiness in a man due to unresolved feelings from her father’s death. To her dismay, she finds herself in a love triangle with Harper Thorne that she wants out of. But when she’s given the opportunity to get out and to be loved wholly by Quentin Knight, Vanessa finds herself torn between the two men. Memoirs of a Broken Heart is the story of a young woman trying to find love through trial and error, while also battling mental illness and alcoholism.  At the end, Vanessa has to choose which man she wants to be with, but also the man she chooses has to choose her also in return.

I think that readers will identify with Vanessa Moore because at some point in every person’s life (especially women), they have all felt some of the same raw emotions Vanessa goes through. How many people can relate to the ups and downs of the love game? How many women have knowingly signed up to be the “other woman”?  Readers will sympathize with Vanessa and her battle with heartbreak and alcoholism, and they will want her to find happiness.

Memoirs of a Broken Heart is a REAL love story. What sets this novel apart from other romance fiction novels is it focuses more on the heartache, the pain, the anguish that love and heartbreak can cause. In most romances; two people fall in love, someone messes up and tries to win the other back, and finally the wronged one forgives and they live happily after. Real love is not like that or Lifetime movies. Memoirs of a Broken Heart is based upon my own personal life experiences, and I am certain many people can relate to my emotional rollercoaster.
