Let’s Talk Crazy

Would this be considered a “think piece”?

I really have no idea what qualifies something as a “think piece” when you have to think in order to write.

Whatever.

You can ask any one of my closest friends or family or anyone in the free world that I LOVE Kanye West.

Stop. Nah, go ahead and suck your teeth and log out. Because obviously this isn’t for you.

Kanye recently revealed himself  having a “mental condition”. Considering this comes after the MAGA hat situation, oh, and the slavery is a choice controversy. As a person that suffers from bipolar disorder (just the other day my therapist told me I have BP1 rather than BP2), someone blaming decisions and comments not well thought through on “mental condition” is a fucking slap in my face. Because basically now Kanye (the man I love) is almost making a mockery out of us. This album or anything he has put out since his diagnosis is not to bring awareness or help those that battle with mental illness.

AND FOR THE FUCKIN RECORD HAVING BIPOLAR IS FAR FROM FUCKIN AWESOME.

Back to my original thought.

I really hate when people try to inaccurately blame erratic behavior on some “mental condition”. You want to know why? Because as soon as I showed a mutual friend that Kanye was claiming he had some “mental condition”, she rolled her eyes and did not want to hear any parts of the interview. Too many people roll their eyes and ignore us due to people that falsely diagnose themselves with “mental conditions”. I am not even going to lie. I’ve made the same judgements and rolled my eyes. Shit. I do it to myself. I question whether I have a mental illness or not because of the perpetrators in the world. I ask my friends if maybe I’m just making excuses and not stepping up because of laziness. That is a truth I dare to share.

But the fact that Kanye didn’t specify the actual “mental condition” in the clips I’ve seen furthermore proves my point he is not trying to be an advocate.

In real life I’m in the middle of a manic episode so my thoughts may be scattered. But all relevant.

Honestly. Truly. If Yeezus has been diagnosed with bipolar depression, I hope he has the right support system, psychiatrists and therapists in place to help him.

BUT if he does not have bipolar disorder that cover of his album is as tasteless as the cover art he paid for Pusha T’s album.
